The basics from - oculoplastics.info

Excerpt

Build the technical foundation for safe eyelid surgery before moving into procedure-specific training. This module reviews upper and lower eyelid anatomy, eyelid blood supply, instrument handling, basic suturing and lid margin closure. Participants should use it to refine tissue handling, needle control, layered closure and eyelid margin alignment before the hands-on sessions.

Learning Goal

Develop a reliable technical base for oculoplastic surgery by understanding eyelid anatomy, respecting blood supply, handling instruments deliberately and performing precise eyelid suturing and margin closure.

Why This Module Matters

The basic skills are the foundation for every later module. Blepharoplasty, ptosis correction, entropion/ectropion repair and eyelid reconstruction all depend on the same core abilities: identifying tissue planes, controlling fine instruments, placing symmetric sutures and aligning the eyelid margin without tension or step-off.
