Terms and Conditions of Participation
Organiser and scope
1.1 LidSUMMIT courses are organised by eyecre.at GmbH, Exlgasse 24, Health Hub Tirol, 6020 Innsbruck, Austria ("we", "the organiser"), in cooperation with the Institute of Clinical and Functional Anatomy of the Medical University of Innsbruck as host.
1.2 These terms apply to every booking of a LidSUMMIT course made through lidsummit.com, by e-mail or by invoice. By completing a booking you accept them. Terms of the participant or their employer do not apply unless we have agreed to them in writing.
1.3 The course language is English. These terms are written in English; a German version is available on request and the English version prevails.
Registration and contract
2.1 Places are limited (40 participants, 20 surgical stations). A booking is a binding offer by the participant. The contract is concluded when we confirm the booking by e-mail, at the latest when we send the invoice or the payment confirmation.
2.2 LidSUMMIT is a hands-on surgical training course for medical doctors. By booking you confirm that you are a licensed physician or a physician in training and that you will take part in the hands-on sessions yourself. We may decline a booking without giving reasons, for example when the professional background does not match the course or the course is full.
2.3 The booking is personal. Bookings made by a hospital, practice or company for a named participant are accepted; the participant named in the booking is the one who attends (see 4.4 for transfers).
Prices, payment and invoicing
3.1 Prices are shown on lidsummit.com in euros. They include the hands-on station, all training materials (human donor specimens and 3D-printed models), instruments, lectures, course documentation, catering during the course days and the course certificate. Travel and accommodation are not included.
3.2 Early-bird prices apply to bookings completed before the date stated on the website. The price valid at the time of booking applies.
3.3 Payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date, at the latest 14 days before the course, by credit card through the website or by bank transfer. Hospitals and departments may pay on invoice. A place is only secured once payment has been received; unpaid places can be released to the waitlist after a reminder.
3.4 Invoices are issued by eyecre.at GmbH. Austrian VAT is shown separately where applicable; for participants from outside Austria the reverse-charge rules may apply, so please give your VAT number when booking for an institution.
Cancellation, rebooking and transfer
We keep this simple: a booked place is never lost, it is only moved.
4.1 Cancellation by the participant must be sent by e-mail to info@lidsummit.com. The date of receipt counts.
4.2 Refund: cancellations received up to 6 weeks before the first course day are refunded in full. Cancellations received later than 6 weeks before the course are not refunded, because specimens, models and catering are ordered per participant by then. Instead of a refund you can always use 4.3 or 4.4.
4.3 Rebooking: at any time, also after the 6-week deadline, you can move your booking to the next LidSUMMIT edition free of charge. Price differences are settled; if the next edition is cheaper, we refund the difference.
4.4 Transfer: at any time, up to the morning of the first course day, you can transfer your place to a colleague who meets the participation requirements (2.2). Send us the name and e-mail address; we re-issue the confirmation and the certificate in the new name. No fee.
4.5 Illness or travel disruption on the course days: tell us as soon as you can; 4.3 and 4.4 apply, so the place or its value is kept.
4.6 Statutory rights: where a consumer has a statutory right of withdrawal under the Austrian Distance Selling Act (FAGG), that right remains unaffected and the withdrawal information on lidsummit.com applies. Our rules in 4.2 to 4.4 apply in addition and are more generous than the statutory minimum.
Programme, faculty and cancellation by the organiser
5.1 The programme published at the time of booking is preliminary. We may change the order of sessions, individual topics and members of the faculty when this is necessary for scientific, organisational or personal reasons, as long as the overall character and scope of the course stay the same. Changes are published on lidsummit.com and in the participant area my.lidsummit.com.
5.2 We may cancel or postpone the course for important reasons, for example too few participants (fewer than 20 bookings 6 weeks before the course), unavailability of the venue or specimens, or force majeure. In that case we inform you immediately and you choose between a full refund and a free rebooking to the next edition. Further claims, in particular for travel and accommodation already booked, are excluded; we recommend travel insurance.
5.3 Should a part of the course be cancelled during the course for reasons we are responsible for, we refund the proportionate course fee.
CME accreditation
6.1 We apply for accreditation of every LidSUMMIT edition with the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®, UEMS). Until the accreditation is confirmed, the website states "accreditation applied for" and the expected number of ECMEC® credits. The number of credits is set by the EACCME®, not by us.
6.2 Credits are only awarded for days actually attended and only after the participant has completed the EACCME® participant evaluation, which we collect through my.lidsummit.com. The certificate states the credits earned.
6.3 If the EACCME® does not grant the accreditation, we tell you as soon as we know. You may then cancel the booking with a full refund within 14 days of our notice, regardless of the deadlines in section 4. Recognition of ECMEC® credits by national bodies is the participant's own responsibility.
Participation and conduct in the anatomy lab
7.1 The hands-on sessions take place on human donor specimens provided by the Institute of Clinical and Functional Anatomy. Participants treat the donors with respect and dignity and follow the instructions of the institute staff and the faculty at all times.
7.2 Participants must not take photos, videos or audio recordings of specimens or in the dissection lab. Only recordings made by the organiser and the host under the institute's rules are permitted (see section 8). A breach can lead to exclusion from the course without refund and may be reported to the professional body.
7.3 Participants follow the hygiene and safety rules of the venue (protective clothing, handling of instruments and sharps, waste). The organiser provides protective equipment.
7.4 We may exclude a participant who seriously disturbs the course or endangers others; in that case the fee is not refunded.
Photo and video recordings
8.1 During the course the organiser and photographers or film teams commissioned by the organiser take photos and video recordings of lectures, the hands-on sessions and the social programme. Participants may be recognisable on them.
8.2 By booking, the participant agrees that these recordings may be used by eyecre.at GmbH and its LidSUMMIT partners, without time limit and without payment, for documentation of the course, for the participant area my.lidsummit.com and for marketing of LidSUMMIT and eyecre.at, in print and online, including the website, newsletters, social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube) and presentations. Recordings are used in a way that does not harm the participant's reputation. Specimens are never shown in a way that allows identification of a donor.
8.3 A participant who does not want to appear in published recordings tells us before the course by e-mail or at the registration desk (an opt-out marker on the name badge). We then keep that person out of published material as far as reasonably possible. Consent for future publications can be withdrawn at any time by e-mail to info@lidsummit.com; material already published or printed is removed where this is reasonably possible, in particular from our own channels.
8.4 Participants may use photos and videos we release in my.lidsummit.com for their own private and professional purposes (for example a LinkedIn post about their participation), naming LidSUMMIT. Recordings that show other participants may not be used for advertising third-party products.
Data protection and sharing with industry partners
9.1 Controller for the participant data is eyecre.at GmbH. We process the data given at booking (name, title, e-mail, address, institution, specialty, country, invoicing data, dietary requirements, self-assessment of surgical experience) to run the course: confirmation, invoicing, station planning, certificate, CME accreditation and the participant area my.lidsummit.com. The legal basis is the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in organising the course (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Details are in the privacy policy.
9.2 Host and accreditation: we share name, institution and country with the Medical University of Innsbruck (host, certificates) and, as totals only, with the EACCME®. Participant evaluations are reported anonymously.
9.3 Industry partners: LidSUMMIT is supported by industry partners who provide instruments, implants and training materials and who are present at the course. With the participant's consent, given by a separate checkbox at booking, we share name, title, institution, specialty and country (not the e-mail address, not the postal address) with the partners of that edition, so they can prepare the hands-on stations and contact the participant afterwards about the products used in the course. Consent is voluntary, the booking does not depend on it, and it can be withdrawn at any time by e-mail to info@lidsummit.com with effect for the future. The partners of an edition are named on lidsummit.com before the course.
9.4 Participant list and alumni: a list of participants (name, institution, country) is shown to the other participants, faculty and course team of the same edition in my.lidsummit.com, so colleagues can find each other. A participant can hide their entry in the portal at any time.
9.5 Certificates: course certificates are published on certificates.lidsummit.com with name, role and credits, so they can be verified by employers and medical bodies. Participants can set their certificate to "valid, no name shown" at any time in my.lidsummit.com.
9.6 Data is stored on servers in Austria and the EU (web host, Notion as participant database, Microsoft 365 for e-mail). Booking and invoicing data is kept for the statutory 7 years; course and alumni data for as long as the participant uses my.lidsummit.com, at most 10 years after the last course, unless the participant asks for deletion earlier. Rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection: info@lidsummit.com; supervisory authority: Austrian Data Protection Authority.
Liability, insurance, governing law
10.1 Participation in the hands-on sessions is at the participant's own risk within the rules of the venue. We are liable for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence; for slight negligence only for personal injury. Liability for indirect damage, loss of profit and for travel and accommodation costs is excluded as far as the law allows. Mandatory consumer protection law remains unaffected.
10.2 Participants are responsible for their own travel, health and liability insurance. The organiser carries event liability insurance for the venue.
10.3 The course content reflects the personal experience and opinion of the faculty. It does not replace the participant's own clinical judgement; the organiser is not liable for the application of techniques shown in the course in the participant's practice.
10.4 Austrian law applies, excluding the UN Sales Convention and conflict-of-law rules. Place of jurisdiction for entrepreneurs is Innsbruck; for consumers the statutory jurisdictions apply. Should a clause be invalid, the rest of these terms remains in force.
