What you train

From indication to your own incision.

Every technique follows the same sequence: a short lecture on indications and pitfalls, a live demonstration at the master table, then you and your partner perform it at your own station. The topics below are those of LidSUMMIT Tirol 2026; the 2027 programme is being finalised with the faculty.

Oculoplastics

Upper lid blepharoplasty

Indications, clinical examination, techniques and pitfalls, then hands-on on donor heads and the M.A.R.K.O. LID 3D eyelid model.

  • Indications and clinical examination
  • Instrument and tissue handling, skin suturing
  • Hands-on on donor head and 3D model
Oculoplastics

Lower lid blepharoplasty

Lower eyelid anatomy and malposition mechanisms, then both approaches demonstrated and trained on donor heads.

  • Transconjunctival approach
  • Transcutaneous approach
  • Indications, techniques and pitfalls
Beyond blepharoplasty

Related eyelid procedures

The same three days also covered the procedures that often come with or after a blepharoplasty.

  • Ptosis: levator advancement, frontalis sling
  • Brow lift and transpalpebral browpexy
  • Entropion, ectropion, lateral tarsal strip
How the hands-on works

Real anatomy, repeatable practice.

01

Surgical anatomy first

The eyelid day opens with a lecture on the surgical anatomy of the eyelid by the Institute of Clinical and Functional Anatomy.

02

Master-table demonstration

Faculty perform the procedure live, step by step, before you start.

03

Your own station

Two surgeons per station on human donor specimens, so you operate yourself instead of watching.

04

Standardised 3D models and simulation

The M.A.R.K.O. LID 3D-printed eyelid model with realistic pathologies lets you repeat steps. At Tirol 2026, open stations added VR/AR eyelid simulation.
